The longest jellyfish recorded measured 50 meters

The lion-maned jellyfish (Cyanea capillata) is more than 2 meters tall and its tentacles measure more than 40 meters; when they are stretched in length, they reach 50 meters. The largest specimen was found in 1870 off the coast of Massachusetts.

This is also the case of his close relatives, equally impressive: the Portuguese Galleys, or Praya dubya, also reach 50 meters. Nowadays, jellyfish are considered as the family of species giving birth to the longest animals on the planet.
