1% of people can see infrared light and 1% can see ultraviolet radiation

The spectrum of visible light extends from wavelengths ranging from 400 nm (purple) to 700 nm (red). The human being can not see beyond (and luckily: that would be too dangerous for our eyes). But some people, because of a gene mutation, can see infrared light or ultraviolet radiation. People who have had a lens removal can also see the U.V.
