In the Middle Ages, caviar was considered a poor food

At that time, caviar was prepared in mush and sometimes given to pigs. Nowadays, some caviars exceed 12 000 € per kilo.

The same goes for lobster, formerly known as the “cockroach of the seas”, which was almost free. This food was mainly intended for prisoners, servants or soldiers.
