Lined with houses, it is roughly equivalent to the distance between Lyon and Barcelona. Until 1999, it was Yonge Street in Canada, which was mistaken for this record: it was in fact mistaken for Route 11, which meant losing its title.

Avenida 9 de Julio (in French Avenue of 9-July), in Buenos Aires, is the widest on the planet with its 140 meters wide.
