Our brain is more active during sleep than during the day

During our sleep, our brain gets rid of all the toxins accumulated during the day and restores the bonds between the nerve cells. It is a period of very intense activity that triggers a large number of biochemical and physiological processes: it participates in our growth, the renewal of bones and our immune defenses, or the repair of our skin. The period of slow sleep also contributes to the elimination of toxins from the respiratory, cardiovascular and glandular systems.
